Innovations in Care is an award-winning provider of mental health supported living services, dedicated to empowering individuals and promoting their well-being. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing support to a client with complex emotional needs, including day shifts and sleep shifts.

Responsibilities:
- Provide person-cantered support to a client with complex emotional needs, promoting their well-being and independence.
- Assist the client with daily activities, including personal care, medication administration, and meal preparation.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring individual needs and goals are met.
- Foster a therapeutic and supportive environment, promoting trust, dignity, and respect.
- Monitor the client's emotional state and behaviour, recognising and responding to any changes or concerns.
- Document interactions and incidents accurately and promptly, maintaining clear and concise records.
- Collaborate effectively with the client's support network, including family members, mental health professionals, and other support staff.
- Support the client during sleep shifts, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the night.
- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention when needed, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision to enhance knowledge and skills in mental health support.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a mental health support role, preferably with individuals with complex emotional needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions and their impact on individuals' well-being.
- Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with professionals from various disciplines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Flexibility to work day shifts and sleep shifts according to the client's needs.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine interest in supporting individuals with mental health needs.
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in mental health, social care, psychology, or a related field is desirable. Successful applicants will be required to complete a Level 2 qualification if not already held
- Experience working in a mental health support environment is essential.
